Betty's?!?

Betty’s Fabrics??  We had heard a rumor that Betty enjoyed sewing during another time in her life.  Do you think that this is where she is going when she leaves SLOCOE? 

Perhaps we should check this out.  Remember the other establishment in Fresno?  It really wasn’t Betty’s at all.  This may be another disappointment.

The goose-vine gossip is that Betty is returning to San Luis Coastal.  We are just so sad that she is leaving SLOCOE.  We do wish her well at that other place but know that all of her friends and coworkers at SLOCOE are going to miss her.

Cooling Off

Oh my, the local inhabitants are much larger than we thought they would be.  However, this gentle giant is very friendly and is giving us directions to a local dining spot that is rated top notch.

Life was so much easier on Betty's counter.  We didn't need to worry about funds for traveling, where to eat, and we knew that whoever was visiting at Betty's desk was our friend also.  Did we make a mistake inleaving SLOCOE?

Here we are at the dining establishment recommended by Mr. Bear.  We are a little concerned about the décor but will check out the menu as we are both very hungry.  Where is that candy dish that is always full that we are so accustomed to?

Mr. Bear was right on with his recommendation of this dining facility. Everything looks wonderful and so healthy.  We can't wait to dig in.  This will certainly renew our energy as we plan the next stage of our adventure.

We truly had no idea that traveling would be this expensive.  Once again, the height of items has presented a challengebut resourceful geese that we are the challenge has been met!



The gulls and heron recommended that we try out this small vessel.  As you can see, Gwyneth is concerned about theseaworthiness of the craft.  Getting it across the mud flat to the water may pose a bit of a challenge also.

Fresno was an interesting city, but, we really are more accustomed to a slower pace.  Perhaps we can meet up with some kindred soles here bythe bay.  Gwyneth isn't as comfortable around water though, so she has her life preserver on.  I, on the other hand, am ready for a day by thewater with my hat and shades.  Just need something to wet my whistle.

Now that we have enjoyed this great meal, we are not having as many second thoughts about leaving SLOCOE.  After all, Betty is leaving us!!We have heard through the goose-vine that Betty's successor has been named.  Ruthie Morse will be taking over the reins from Betty.  So many changes, so many decisions to be made.We do miss all of our friends at SLOCOE, but. . . . . .

The day is drawing to a close and we are both very tired.  Perhaps we will just climb aboard this bus and see where it takes us. 


There are still decisions to be made but our short little legs just can’t go any further on their own.
